Cultural tours can be arranged into the local Shangaan community, to get an insight into their rural way of life and culture.
The Shangaan people are naturally creative and musical. In the gold mines of South Africa the Shangaan workers made gumboot dancing famous, a style of dance which has evolved into its own art form in recent years.

Indulge in a spa treatment or simply relax by the private spa pool. A secret little nook to enjoy some extra peace and quiet. Relax, reflect and rejuvenate.
The rooms
The rooms consist of beautifully appointed suites with open plan bedroom and en-suite bathroom. All suites have both indoor and outdoor shower facilities. All windows and sliding doors are fitted with screens. Each suite at Notten’s Bush Camp leads onto a private wooden deck with a beautiful view of the bush. All the rooms are cooled with air-conditioning. There are charging points for mobile phones, cameras, electronic equipment, as well as secure WIFI.
Summer House
The summer house serves as a social area with a comfy lounge, bar, library and indoor fire place, perfect for winter months. Most meals are served here, unless there is a Boma dinner - weather dependant. Whilst on the deck cheeky monkeys and inquisitive birds hope for a crumb or two.
Notten's Pool
Notten’s has a 20 meter lap pool with an open plan pavilion , where one can enjoy a day of sun tanning and drinking. There are sun beds scattered on the lawns, as well as an undercover chill area where you can enjoy reading your book or a drink at the pool bar.
Bonfire Boma
Delicious meals by the fire are served in the open-air boma under the milky way, surrounded by lanterns and candle light. After dinner find a spot by the fire and listen to the sounds of the bush and share your days adventures.
Cuisine
The food at Notten’s is always delicious, hearty and homemade with local ingredients. Meals are a social event and can be experienced out in the open boma or on the deck of the summer house.
